Job Details

BVS has an immediate opening for a full-time Financial Manager. This position is responsible for all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecasts preparation, as well as development of internal control policies and procedures. It also includes financial risk management.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage/Oversee all financial and accounting operations including Payroll, Billing, A/R, A/P, GL and Counsel, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting and Revenue Recognition
  • Supervises employees to include prioritizing and assigning work; conducting performance evaluations, ensuring staff are trained, and making hiring, termination, and disciplinary recommendations
  • Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances
  • Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements investigating means to improve profitability and financial health
  • Coordinate, prepare and submit regulatory reporting while maintaining accurate filing and record keeping for all financial and regulatory related documents
  • Research technical accounting issues for compliance conducting periodic internal audits
  • Manage month-end and year-end close process, bank reconciliation and reporting
  • Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
  • Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements, tax filings and registrations 
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls 
  • Pro-actively analyze financial data trends, making and driving process improvements with the leadership team; and present significant business issues to senior management and propose actions 
  • Provide analytical and pro-active business assessment information to make sound business decisions (e.g. product line profitability, investment trade-offs). Improve on tools utilized by management to run business 
  • Facilitates risk management and insurance programs to minimize risks and losses 
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
  • Experience with creating financial statements
  • Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process
  • Excellent accounting software user and administration skills
  • Responsible and thorough individual with strong attention to detail
  • Excellent high-level analysis and decision making skills
  • Understanding of confidential information, respectful and responsible
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, required.
  • Certified Public Accountant, required.
  • Five years of combined experience in accounting or finance required with supervisory experience preferred.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to walk and stand for extensive periods of time.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting driving or at a desk and working on a computer.
  • The ability to working with and around industrial hazards.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
